What's New for 2019?

While most of the trim levels and setups of the new 2019 Tacoma carry over the features, engines and capabilities from the 2018 version, there are some tweaks in the TRD Pro trim. This off-roading level now features more standard equipment that assist you with your travels over rougher terrains than the highways found around Mt. Airy, Thomasville and Salisbury. These include features like a special skid plate that helps protect your undercarriage, upgraded shocks and more. You'll also be able to add a unique air intake with the TRD badging that helps you to ventilate your Tacoma's cab if you're driving around in a desert or anywhere else with lots of dust and dirt kicking up.

2019 Toyota Tacoma Performance and Capabilities

As we're sure you're aware, the Tacoma has long been the highlight of the small truck segment. There are obviously better options if you need high-end towing and hauling for the Lexington and Winston Salem areas. The base four-cylinder engine will be great for driving around town if you want to maximize your efficiency, but it doesn't offer much power at all. That's why we typically recommending a Tacoma setup with the versatile and capable 3.5-liter V-6, which gives you a smooth and quiet 278-horsepower performance. When properly configured, you can tow up to 6,800 pounds in your Tacoma, with a max payload of 1,175 pounds. That's enough for lighter duties around the home or at work, but if you need more than that, choose a Toyota Tundra here in Winston Salem.

2019 Toyota Tacoma Safety and Technology

In all its new models, Toyota dedicates plenty of technology to safety, and that includes trucks like the new 2019 Tacoma. The Toyota Safety Sense suite is standard on the Tacoma, giving you high-end driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane departure warning and forward collision warning with emergency braking. That's a generous offering in a starting package that's otherwise limited with technology, offering only Bluetooth and a USB interface in the base trim.

Upgrading your tech options is easy however, as you'll most likely want a V-6 version that will automatically come with features like smartphone integration, keyless entry and ignition and much more. Starting in the SR5 trim, you'll have a wide variety of options, including satellite radio, Siri Eyes Free voice control and more. At the higher levels, advanced tech for navigation, touchscreen controls and more are offered.

With plenty of cab styles and bed sizes, a couple engine options and full wealth of Toyota tech offered, the new 2019 Tacoma can be built to suit your needs perfectly. Get started by coming over to Modern Toyota in Winston Salem today and we'll be sure to go over all your options for this exciting new truck as we take you out for a quick test drive.
